Babar Khan for State Assembly, 71st District.
Babar Khan is running for State Assembly in California's 71st District, made up of a portion of southwestern Riverside County and southeastern Orange County. He and his wife and two sons live in Murrieta, where they are active in the community. Babar has been a truckdriver for more than 20 years, and he now owns his own truck. Born in Pakistan, Babar Khan came to the United States in 1990 at the age of 21. He has lived and worked in California and Utah.
He strongly believes that economic and educational opportunities must be available to everyone, without discrimination. He is a member of the Peace and Freedom Party because he is serious about peace, and serious about freedom.
"Our freedoms and rights must be defended - we support the rights of people of all national backgrounds, of all languages, of all religions, without regard to sex or age or disability status."
Of course, Babar has a particular interest in defending the rights of immigrants, as his whole family is part of the majority of Californians who are immigrants or the children of immigrants. But he also has a strong interest in defending the rights, the cultures, and the lands, of Native Americans. Working people need to stick together, and Babar says "Unions are a good way for workers to advance their own interests."
